The Silos was one of my all time favorite adventures, perhaps because of it’s grand scale. The building is a set of two towers, approximately 10-12 stories tall. The first floor of the main tower is a dark maze of machinery and conveyor belts. After climbing through a hole someone torched out of a steel door, you’re faced with an intimidating stairwell that goes to the top, with rooms to explore every few floors. The top of the main tower has roof access, and leads to one of the Bay Area’s most epic graffiti pieces: a 3 storey CCTV flipping off the bay. Though I visited this location twice (these pictures are from the first visit only), I still have yet to find a way in to the second tower. I hear it’s not as impressive, but I eagerly await the day I get to visit it; as this is a favorite location of mine. November 23, 2013 at 1:17 pm | Urban Ex |
