These abandoned, decaying barracks have been rotting away in the East bay for years. We decided to check them out on the way home from The Bulb. I happened upon these several years ago, when I was alone on a solo trip. I wasn't courageous enough back then, but now that I was rolling with my friend they only seemed half-insanely intimidating. This was one of our first truly indoor urban-explorations, and it was quite an experience at that. There wasn't much light and there was lots of trash and puddles everywhere.  The main problem was the openness of the architecture on the inside. No matter which way you stood, there was always a creepy opening and a cold draft right behind you. We didn't spend much time inside, but plan to go back at some point. It's probably for the best that we got in and got out - we didn't have respirators yet.
