I previously wrote about my first experience building custom Nendroid from scratch. When I was invited to goto Offkai - a vTuber focused convention in San Jose California, I decided to make a duplicate of my original Nendoroid to gift, as well as a brand new one. I also mentioned in the past how I made a Graffiti picture featuring Fuwa, and she was going to be attending as well, so this was the perfect subject to make another Nendoroid.

While her reaction was in person, she did a live unboxing on her channel, which you can watch here:

This time the process went much smoother, I was able to use my base 3d Nendoroid model from the last project to make the new 3d shape:

This time I had to be more methodical in my work flow. I had already made one Nendoroid, which I planned on keeping, but now I wanted to make 3 more: 2 Fuwa and 1 Reli. So for the next week or so my Queens apartment became a Nendroid factory. I started off by printing all the pieces I would need and then giving them a primer coat. For the many face-plates I needed, I made a little cardboard jig to be able to paint them more easily.

A test fit before doing the primer painting:

Then it was time to use some off-the-shelf primer and gave all the parts a good base coat:

I then got busy painting all the parts, which went much smoother this time. When I built my DJ Costume I learned how to use an airbrush and that skill came in really handy. It was much faster and effective to spray base coats down with an aibrush. I upgraded my equipement from the portable one I had last time to a proper setup. I also learned how to mix acrylic paints and thin them with airbrush thinner so I could use any custom colors I needed in my brush.

I still did many of the detail painting with brushes and acrylic paint pens, and like before, I used custom printed decals for the face plates and other outfit details.

Like before, I used Photoshop to make a custom box and ran to Staples to have it printed out on poster paper at 600 DPI so it would look professional. I cut and folded the boxes & my set was complete - 2 for me, and 2 to give away:
