Jumble Blog Goes Live - 6/17/10

We have been keeping the Blog internal, saving up some entries... only because it wasn't yet decided if we would have a blog on the site.

After lots of feedback through our support@jumblebag email, the answer became obvious: our user / customer base would totally benefit from getting live updates as we work through the orders.

So today, 6/17/10 marks history as the day Jumble Blog goes live!

The updates below are all retro-posts, but still fun none the less. Check back for updates & maybe special deals - get something random!

Trippin' On Shippin' - 6/15/10

Our orders have been going out painfully slowly lately- and alot of people are starting to speak up.

I'd like to first begin by apologizing to those who had a long wait / are still waiting for their Jumble Bag, and I'd like to clarify our shipping policy:

Depending on the traffic of the site, and the time of year we will try to ship all
queued orders once a week. Typically 5 business days at most after payment.

Basically we will try to drop off your order with the Post Office, around 5 days after you place the order, not counting weekend days.

This doesn't mean "5 days to your door."

Also, because the shipping is FREE, we do not get individual tracking numbers and the service definitely won't be overnight.

Currently we are rebuilding the shopping cart system to include an order/address confirmation email from us, which is much needed - many of you will agree!

We would just like to remind everyone that their Jumble Bag orders are appreciated, but after all, patience is what makes the anticipation so exciting! ;)

Open Ears to Critics & Cheers - 6/14/10

We love to hear feedback from our Jumblers - both the good and the bad... so if you have ideas or you are a critic, be sure to shout at us.

One Jumbler says,

Hello,

I have received both my jumble bag orders. I enjoyed the 5mw green laser. The headlight was stupid I suggest taking that out of your tool jumblebag inventory and never sending it to anyone again. The light isn't bright. The headband for it is way to small for my head and the batteries don't even fit in the battery compartment they slide around and move whenever the headlight moves. Its basically unusable.

We're glad you liked the green laser! Hmm... we thought the head lamp was pretty cool, but I guess they aren't all built the same - lame. We already sent out our entire stock of those, but we won't be ordering more! - thanks for the tip.

Another Jumbler says,

Hey, so first of all, is each jumble bag supposed to have 3 items? I only got two... and second of all, I thought this was supposed to be a 'jumble' bag. I got two kitchen items, same exact brand - a grater and a peeler. I get that the whole fun of this is that I could get something awesome or something that totally sucks. I got the latter, and I understand that, but I thought I would at least have some variety. Also, I find it hard to believe that a simple grater and a peeler are worth 5 bucks? Especially at bulk prices... Just letting you guys know that I am not at all satisfied, those were not 'awesome items', and I'm pretty sure they were not 'way below retail price'.

Well actually, each Jumble Bag has a random number of items! Could be 1... could be 10, it's all part of the Jumble. As for the kitchen tools - those would totally be $2 each at SafeWay or another supermarket! Not to mention we pay over $2 for the FREE shipping on each bag - so the total worth per bag starts around $3 for us to make profit: which is totally below retail price. Anyway you're right: we should have mixed it up more instead of two kitchen things. Note taken.

Anyway, if you have any advice or idea's we'd love to hear it!

Regards,
-JB

Epic Milestone: Over 1000 in a week! - 5/30/10

Today is Sunday, and ever since the Geekologie article, the orders have been pouring in crazily! Until the recent influx we have had a steady trickle of orders, but who would have thought the Jumble Bag idea would be a flash hit?

The days to come will definitely be busy, and we've already started packing. We will definitely need to get more merch.

Geekologie! - 5/26/10

Today makes history! We have been reviewed by Geekologie!

article here:
www.geeko...geekologie_review_mystery_jumb.php

So a Jumble Bag (link to site) is basically a Woot.com Bag of Crap, except you don't have to sit at your computer jamming F5 for two days straight only to watch the server crash and not get your order processed. $5 gets a random jumble sent to your door (free shipping) and you can choose between "original" (completely random), "tool" and "toy" bags. I got two separate jumbles, one of which contained more typical items (a little Koopa Troopa plushie and an LCD flashlight keyring that projects the time on your wall/ceiling/penis/girlfriend's breasts), and one rarer, nicer item (electronic breathalyzer!). If you've got $5 or $10 laying around it might be worth taking a stab at a bag or two. Of course, I'm a sucker for getting packages in the mail because I love the anticipation. I also love drinking and seeing how high I can blow on the breathalyzer. Which, funny story, tops out at 0.4 and doesn't automatically call an amberlamps (I pumped my own stomach with a toilet plunger).

So far the orders have been coming in steady! We could not have asked for a better review, thanks GW.

Fan Mail - 5/26/10

We love to hear what our customers have to say, today we got some love:

Ok, you guys got my personality spot on with this bag - the Chewbacca bobblehead is freaky perfect. My sci-fi nerd boyfriend and I (also a sci-fi nerd) just moved in together, and this is now on prominent display in our kitchen. The pho soup charms were also adoreable, and are now adorning keys and phones alike! I will totally order from you guys again whenever I need a "pick me up". Thanks again!

-Allison

Great to hear it - and thanks for trying Jumble Bag!

First Order! - 4/19/10

Looks like our promotion and our friends word of mouth is working! Although alot of our friends have been supporting Jumble Bag with purchases, this marks the first completely unrelated total stranger to purchase something. Hope they like what they get!
